Grabby Roly Poly

J is almost mobile. Today he successfully made it from back to front on several occasions. When he realizes that combining back-to-front and front-to-back gets him closer to something he wants, Bug's toys, the dogs, and the Christmas tree are in a lot of trouble.

He is also becoming grabby. Seemingly over the novelty of merely observing my activities from his ring side hip seat he is now occasionally trying to be part of the action by grabbing at whatever I happen to holding. I'm reminded that my glass nut chopper perished around this point with Bug, so I'm going to try to get in the habit of using the Bumbo when I'm busy in the kitchen. And I seriously need to either get a haircut or start wearing ponytails because yanking on my hair is one of his favorite games.

Speaking of games, his hand-eye coordination is still primitive, but Bug is always nearby with an "uh-oh" when he drops a toy. I can see a game of let-me-drop-this-on-the-floor-so-sister-can-pick-it-up on the horizon.

J is increasing discontent to sit on my lap. He often prefers to to stand on my lap (obviously requiring me to spot and steady him), but LOVES to jump. The jumperoo is good sometimes, especially when we are all in the living room for him to watch, but nothing beats jumping and jumping and jumping on Mom's lap. Oh well. I'm having trouble making it to the gym right now, so every little bit helps.
