Never a dull moment

Oct 25 was a day. While I was throwing a load of clothes in the washer J started fussing in his bouncer seat on the kitchen table (a no-no, I know). Unbeknownst to me Bug went in the kitchen to try to give him his binkie. When he didn't want to take it she decided to try to lift him out of his seat. In trying to do so, she accidentally pulled his chair to the point it fell knocking over the kitchen chair with her on it. Thankfully J was okay, just a scared and a little wet from landing on top of Zoey's bowl. It was the first time we saw Bug really scared. She was frozen in place standing next to his chair.

That afternoon I took the kids and went to their first pumpkin decorating party. We were up against naptime so we didn't have enough time for carving, but Bug had a great time painting her pumpkin. Considering that she is only 3 she did a pretty good job keeping most of the paint on the pumpkin. Her favorite part was having one of Ashley's pumpkin cookies.

Later that night, Hubby and I got Bug put to bed a little later than usual since our church home group ran over. I was nursing J for the last time of the night on the couch while Hubby was in the kitchen fixing his dinner. We were talking across rooms when I heard Bug screaming. I told Hubby and he ran to see what the problem was. I was puzzled when it took him several minutes to come back, but when he did he explained that Bug somehow fell off the end of her toddler bed and got tangled up in her mesh canopy ("like a fish in a net"). He said it took him a while to get her untangled. Am I a bad mom for laughing? I just question whether there is another kid who (1) would insist that her canopy was bothering her and have her mom gather it up at the end of her bed and then (2) pursue some course of action at the end of her bed resulting in her falling into the gathered canopy and getting stuck. I'm firmly convinced she is one-of-a-kind.
