About a week ago J started crouching to grab objects and standing back up. He is pretty steady on his feet so long as he isn't tired.
He loves when I put him on Bug's scooter and (with my hands over his) push him around the house.
Bug has been telling everyone that J "caught up with a cold" and that she hopes she doesn't "catch up with a cold." Can't help but smile. Watching her work on her mastery of the English language is delightful. She loves learning new words and often gets confused as she tries to use them.
She will be taking her first swimming lessons 4 days next week. She seems excited and I'm trying to coach her about being brave and doing what her instructors tell her but we'll see how that plays out... When she doesn't want to do something it's a little like pulling a donkey or trying to herd a cat. That will serve her well later--I have a hard time imagine her being a follower of her peers--but it can be a little frustrating at times now.
Just learned that a spot has opened up in the home education co-op we were interested in, so our family is officially in. Hurray!! It will be great for Bug to have a regular time to be around a consistent group of other kids her age, it will give her a chance to study 3 subjects per semester under different teachers, and it will give me a chance to contribute in some way--not sure what yet. Now I just need to get my behind in gear and get familiar with the curriculum materials I've bought...
